Tooting & Mitcham United’s goal-scoring sensation Dan Summers has rejected moves up the non-League pyramid because he likes the Terrors’ style, says boss Craig Tanner.

Saturday’s Ryman Division One South trip to Sittingbourne fell foul of the weather, meaning Summers will have to wait until the visit of Redhill on February 28 to add to the 20 league goals he has scored so far.

Tanner said: “He is a brilliant player and he has turned down approaches to play for Enfield Town and Hampton and Richmond Borough.

“He likes Tooting’s style and we have known each other for a few years.

“He scores goals and he makes life a little bit easier sometimes.

“He has won games for us on his own.”
