Police have shut down a huge cannabis factory and arrested a man in Kingston.

Officers raided the address on January 27, 2023, after intel about possible class B drug production.

A large amount of plants and equipment found within the premises were seized.

Kingston Police said that the venue was also allegedly abstracting electricity to run the factory A suspect was detained and found to have £20,000 on him.

He was arrested and taken to custody where the investigation will continue.

Kingston Police wrote on their Facebook page: “Attending an address, we knocked ever so daintily as to not wake up anyone and the door may have flown off its hinges. (Cowboy carpenter clearly)

“Behind said crunch was a male, let’s call him ‘suspect’, with £20,000 in readies on him.

“Well oopsie daisy.

“Having a further nose, we found everything pictured.

“He was arrested for crime!

“He was also abstracting electricity so will be charged. Another Positive story.”

A spokesperson for Kingston Police said: “Police attended an address in Kingston on Friday the 27th January 2023 in relation to a possible cannabis factory at the venue.

“Upon entry, a male suspect was detained with approx. £20,000 on his person.

“A large cannabis factory was found within the premises and was seized.

“The male was arrested and taken to custody where the investigation will continue with CID furthering the case.”
