Kingston police and Kingstonfirst have teamed up to provide kids in the borough with Christmas presents bought by the public.

Hanging on a Christmas tree in the Rose Theatre will be tags allowing residents to volunteer to buy presents worth up to £20 for a child.

Once bought, they can deliver the present to the front counter at Kingston police station.

Chief Superintendent Glenn Tunstall said: “As borough commander, I am very proud that Kingston police are joining partners and community charities to provide gifts for children across the borough, who may not be as fortunate as some others.

“I hope our Christmas tree initiative will bring some extra happiness to these children at this magical time of year.”

Those who cannot make it to the theatre to pick up a tag can email kingstonchristmasproject@met.police.uk.
